Farm Business & Production Management

Farmers need to be adaptable and ready for change at all times. Markets continuously evolve, farms increase or decrease in size and new technology is constant. In order for your farm business to grow and succeed, you must be able to keep up with the latest advances in producing food and fiber to meet the world’s needs. With Blackhawk's Farm Business and Production Management program, you’ll delve into the latest farm management principles such as crop and livestock management, commodity marketing, soil and nutrient management planning, and governmental regulations – learning everything you need to know about how to grow and improve current farm operations you own or manage.

This seven-class technical certificate program is designed specifically for farm owners, operators, renters, and farm managers. It is structured around weekly scheduled group sessions held at the Monroe Campus and includes individual, on-farm instruction giving you invaluable, focused training. Enroll in August or January and complete the program in one year or take a class or two each year. Our goal is to offer flexibility to fit your needs. Plus, this program is a terrific precursor to an associate’s degree in Agribusiness/Science Technology.
